Jürgen Klopp has hope After the upcoming international break, Cody Gakpo will resume playing.
The forward left the pitch at halftime of the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday after getting hurt during a challenge. He later left the stadium wearing a leg brace.
Gakpo, though, is progressing well, and Klopp gave an encouraging report on the No. 18’s health.
Cody, there’s a decent chance, the boss said. He is already out of the brace and moving around normally, so I believe he almost got the best injury-wise out of all the very, very awful prospects and possibilities.
In other places, Klopp provided the most recent information on the health of Conor Bradley, Stefan Bajcetic, and Thiago Alcantara.
Due to a hip injury that necessitated surgery at the end of the previous season, Thiago is yet to play in 2023–24.
While Bradley has been sidelined with a back ailment, Bajcetic has developed a small issue after making just two appearances this season after a lengthy absence.
It’s absolutely annoying, especially for [Thiago] himself, Klopp said. He has experienced two minor setbacks in his rehabilitation, enough to remove him from the pitch once more. Although obviously not the same injury, rather similar.
It’s as annoying for me as it is for Stefan Bajcetic, who was there and played for a little while before feeling something different. Sometimes that is how it is after long-term injuries.
“I don’t know, and I won’t make demands on their returns because I can’t anyway. We’ll find out whether they return after the internationals. I’m hoping it’d be cool.
