WHAT OCCURED? The last time Thiago started for Jurgen Klopp’s team was in February’s 3-0 Premier League loss to Wolves, when he underwent surgery to treat a persistent hip problem. Thiago has been out of the lineup since that time. The Spanish midfielder returned to team practise in August, but as his recovery approached, he suffered yet another setback. The 32-year-old is still unavailable, according to Klopp, while youthful midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who has just made one start since March, is also out owing to his own fitness concerns.
