The Grizzlies announced that Roster would move to the Heat after the loss

The Memphis Grizzlies made a roster move

After the loss to the Miami Heat, the Memphis Grizzlies announced that forward Jake LaRavia has been sent to the Memphis Hustle of the G League. With all the injuries in Memphis, LaRavia has had to get opportunities at the NBA level this season, but it’s been tough for him in five games this season with the Grizzlies.

Averaging just 3.4 PPG in 12.2 MPG, LaRavia also made just 35% of his attempts from the field and 16.7% of his attempts from deep. With just 40 NBA starts, LaRavia certainly has a chance to work through those struggles and impact the Grizzlies again at some point, and this move to the Memphis Hustle is a chance to get consistent carries.

The Grizzlies have had a crazy start to the new season, winning just once in their first eight games. While a lot of that can be attributed to the absence of Ja Morant, who is of course suspended for the first 25 games of the season, Memphis certainly had chances to win that they ultimately gave up.

Morant’s return is a huge boost, but the Grizzlies can’t afford to wait. Whether it’s their established veterans or up-and-coming players, the Grizzlies need someone to help them win games.
