Stephen Lee on a potential return because there’s “not a chance of it”

Notwithstanding the fact that his lengthy suspension expires later this year, Stephen Lee seems to have given up on ever playing professional snooker again.

The 12-year ban for the former world number five ends on October 12, 2024, which is also Lee’s 50th birthday.

Following a thorough investigation, Lee was ultimately found guilty of match fixing in 2014, having been suspended in 2012 under suspicion.

The Englishman, who had just won his fifth career ranking title, was considered one of the best players in the world at the time.

When asked a few years ago, Lee—who reportedly still owes the WPBSA enormous sums of money in legal fees—seemed to be open to the possibility of making a comeback.

Stephen Lee reportedly remarked in 2022, “I must get asked this weekly, daily, minutely,” according to The Mirror.

“Although I would prefer to say no, I can still play. After two years, let’s see what transpires. It’s neither a yes nor a no.

We are only able to speculate as to what will occur in a few years. I’m getting older and have some exciting things coming up.
