Arsenal have made an approach to sign Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid, Sky Sports states.

The Gunners are in the market for the addition of a creative midfielder and are pursuing alternatives after Norwich City ruled-out a January exit for Emi Buendia.

Odegaard has requested to leave Madrid on loan and Arsenal have expressed an interest.

Mesut Ozil’s free trasfer to Fenerbache will be finalised on Friday.

The report states the Gunners are close to agreeing a termination of his deal, which would open the door for a move to Turkey.

Ozil arrived in Istanbul on Sunday and is currently undergoing a five-day quarantine period.

Atalanta forward Papu Gomez is not on Arsenal’s list of January targets, Fabrizio Romano has stated.

The Argentine is among a wealth of names who has been touted for a move to the Emirates Stadium this month.

However, the 32-year-old is said to not be a player the Gunners are considering and Inter Milan remains the veteran’s most likely destination

Coaches at Arsenal are reportedly against the idea of cutting ties with Lucas Torreira.

Sky Sports state that many of Arsenal’s backroom staff are still friendly with the midfielder, and don’t want to see him sold despite being out of favour under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal have been linked with a swap deal involving Christian Eriksen and Lucas Torreira in the January transfer window.
