After the international break, Liverpool is expecting that Cody Gakpo can return, as Thiago Alcantara is sidelined again by a “annoying” ailment.

Thiago’s injury setback is revealed by Klopp

Delays also affect Bajectic.

Gakpo might play again after the international break.

AHEAD OF TIME? Thiago’s last starting appearance came in February during the 3-0 Premier League loss to Wolves. Thiago has not been a member of Jurgen Klopp’s team since May, when he had surgery to treat a persistent hip ailment. Even though the Spanish midfielder went back to squad training in August, he was getting closer to making a comeback when he suffered another setback. The 32-year-old is still unavailable, according to Klopp, while Stefan Bajcetic, a young midfielder who has only started once since March, is also out because of personal fitness concerns.

More encouragingly, Gakpo is anticipated to return later this month. After scoring Liverpool’s equalising goal in the encounter against Tottenham Hotspur the previous weekend, he was forced to leave the pitch at halftime due to a knee injury, but he should soon be able to play again.
