Gabriel Jesus seems to be unhappy with his role at Arsenal.

Gabriel Jesus has declared that he would prefer to be a “number nine” in the game.
Brazilian has started the last three games for Arsenal on the wing.
He was persuaded to join by Edu and Arteta with the promise of being a striker.

Jesus began both of his games against Tottenham and Bournemouth on the left wing. In the win over his old team, Manchester City, he was utilised on the right wing.

He has started both of the Champions League games up front, although he has not yet started a Premier League game in the number nine role due to injury.

After moving to England in January 2017, Jesus was mostly expected to play on the flank, despite making his name as a central striker with Palmeiras. His desire to play in a different manner drove him to look for a new challenge, with Pep Guardiola’s decision to select Oleksandr Zinchenko as a false nine in a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in November 2021 appearing to be the last straw.

Jesus eventually acknowledged that he had skipped the pre-match lunch because he had been sobbing and talking to his mother on the phone in his room.
