Martin Keown was overjoyed by William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes’ performance during Arsenal’s exciting 1-0 victory over Manchester City over the weekend.
Both players are currently the team’s first choices and have been instrumental in helping the team fight for the championship in back-to-back seasons.
Keown, a former center-back, liked what he saw and wrote them a note after the game. They managed the pressure from the elite City assault during the game.
As reported by The Sun, he stated to Mikel Arteta:
As a former Arsenal central defender, I just wanted to mention that the two central defenders today were fantastic.
“Haaland was eaten by Saliba and Gabriel.
And you don’t get to say that very often because he’s such a fantastic player.
