EPL: After a VAR error, Klopp requests a replay between Tottenham and Liverpool.

Due to the VAR blunder that lost Liverpool an early goal over the weekend, Jurgen Klopp wants the game at Tottenham to be replayed.

Spurs eventually prevailed 2-1 in the Premier League match, ending nine-man Liverpool’s undefeated start to the campaign with Joel Matip’s own goal in the 96th minute.

The negative effects of the VAR error on Saturday’s loss are still being felt, when officials incorrectly disallowed Luis Diaz’s goal owing to confusion about the on-field decision.

Professional Game Match Officials Ltd, the organisation that represents referees, acknowledged a “significant human error” in a statement.

Upon Liverpool’s request, PGMOL made the match officials’ audio conversation public. However, Klopp claimed that little had changed in the match officials’ perspectives as a result.

He said at a press conference on Wednesday that “the audio didn’t change it at all.” “It is blatantly incorrect. There ought to be remedies for that, in my opinion. A replay, in my opinion, should be the result.

“That opens the gates, which is an argument against it. It is unheard of. This has never occurred before.

“I’m used to making bad and challenging decisions, but something like this never happened, so I think a replay is the right course of action,” the speaker said.

When asked if the team had requested a replay or would formally request one from the Premier League, Klopp responded, “At this time, we are still looking through the information we have.

The German claimed that correcting the error as soon as it occurred would have been preferable, and he wants a protocol put in place to prevent such issues from occurring again.

“When you encounter this situation for the first time, you attempt to comprehend and seek a solution, but it does not resolve the issue. How can we organise this predicament as well as the future? Added he.

“I would say replay if that happened again. Or, much better than a repeat, sort it there and then. sane judgement.

“Whether or not a replay occurs, that is just my opinion.”
