DONE DEAL: NASCAR Star Chase Elliott Signs Massive $600 Million Contract With ESPN to Be the First to Launch Global Motorsports Media Division
April 12, 2025 — Charlotte, NC
In a move that has stunned both the motorsports world and the broader sports media landscape, NASCAR superstar Chase Elliott has officially signed a groundbreaking $600 million contract with ESPN, making him the first professional driver to lead and launch a global motorsports media division under the ESPN brand.
The historic multi-year deal positions Elliott not only as a racing icon but now as a central figure in the future of motorsports content creation and distribution. The deal includes global rights, executive production roles, and strategic leadership in developing original content across all forms of motorsports, from NASCAR and F1 to dirt racing and motocross.
“This isn’t just a media contract — it’s a movement,” Elliott said during the press conference held at ESPN headquarters. “It’s time motorsports got the spotlight it truly deserves. And I’m honored to be the one leading the charge.”
The Future of Motorsports, Reimagined
Elliott’s new role will give him unprecedented access to ESPN’s production teams, digital platforms, and global sports infrastructure.
As the first active driver to take on a corporate creative leadership position, he’ll be responsible for producing original docuseries, race-day content, driver-focused documentaries, and behind-the-scenes access never seen before in the sport’s history.
ESPN President Burke Magnus called the deal a “watershed moment for both media and motorsports,” saying,
“Chase Elliott is a household name, a world-class competitor, and a visionary. Together, we’re going to redefine what motorsports content looks like for fans around the world.”
More Than Racing
The deal is about more than just racing coverage — it’s about building a brand. Elliott will help launch the ESPN Motorsports Studio, a dedicated production house aimed at developing motorsports-related programming across all genres — from documentaries and podcasts to animated series and virtual racing experiences.
The first project, titled “Beyond the Wheel”, is already in pre-production. It will feature untold stories of racers around the world, beginning with a deep dive into Elliott’s own journey from Dawsonville, Georgia, to NASCAR’s biggest stage.
“This is about giving voice to the racers — the kids, the families, the mechanics, and the dreamers,” Elliott said. “We’re building something for the next generation.”
A Legacy Beyond the Track
Chase Elliott, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Champion and 18-time race winner, has long been one of the sport’s most beloved and marketable stars. With this deal, he steps into an even bigger role — not just as a driver, but as an executive, storyteller, and industry ambassador.
With the deal finalized, production will begin immediately on several new shows under Elliott’s creative supervision, with the first wave of content scheduled to launch this summer.
$600 million. One driver. One vision. Chase Elliott isn’t just racing anymore — he’s rewriting the playbook for what’s possible.
