Curtis Jones: Liverpool’s attempt to have a midfielder’s dismissal against Tottenham Hotspur reversed was unsuccessful.

After the VAR intervened to change Curtis Jones’ original yellow card for a tackle on Yves Bissouma to a red one, the Reds went on to lose the match 2-1. Digo Jota was also dismissed in the second half.

After his appeal to have his red card from the 2-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday upheld, Curtis Jones is now expected to serve a three-game Premier League suspension.

For a challenge on Yves Bissouma in the 26th minute of the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the midfielder was initially given a yellow card.

But after Darren England, the video assistant referee, intervened, that was changed to a straight red.

Jones is now ruled out of the Reds’ upcoming games against Brighton & Hove Albion, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Premier League on Sunday afternoon, Everton, and Nottingham Forest.

In the meantime, Diogo Jota will miss Sunday’s game against the American Express Community Stadium due to a one-match suspension he received after being sent out for receiving two yellow cards.
