The last time the two countries played men’s international football was in 2016, when England defeated the Socceroos 2-1, with a teenage Marcus Rashford scoring the game’s only goal. That friendly match was the first since Australia’s legendary 3-1 victory over England in 2003; Graham Arnold’s team will be seeking to repeat that result on their current tour.
