Robbie Fowler, a Liverpool star, has said that he would not be upset if Ivan Toney left Brentford to play for Chelsea or Arsenal.

Robbie Fowler, writing for the Daily Mirror, acknowledges that he can see why Ivan Toney might be interested in joining any of the two London teams that have been connected to him.

The 27-year-old has been suspended so far this season, but he had a big impact for Brentford last year.

He made 33 games in the Premier League and scored 20 goals.

The Evening Standard reports that both Chelsea and Arsenal are contemplating making a January move for Toney, who may cost up to £80 million.

Robbie Fowler is aware of why Ivan Toney does what he does.

Fowler still feels it would be best for Toney to leave Brentford, despite the Bees’ success in the Premier League since promotion.

The former Liverpool striker added, “No doubt both Arsenal and Chelsea offer the chance to do that [improve his level].”

Later he elaborated, saying, “This is his opportunity to go to a top club and play the best years of his career at the very top level.” I can’t say I blame him for that, however his timing is stupid and he could have done it better.
