Bukayo Saka will be rested for England’s match against Australia as a result of a compromise being considered by the Football Association and Arsenal regarding the attacker’s participation for England next week.
After the Gunners’ encounter against Manchester City on Sunday, England and Arsenal doctors will work together to determine whether Saka should stay with Gareth Southgate’s group despite worries about his general fitness.
And it’s believed that the main topic of negotiation would be a potential deal that would allow Saka to report to St. George’s Park as usual next week, but with a very reduced training schedule and without making the start against the Australians on Friday night at Wembley.
Saka would then resume full training beginning on Saturday with an eye towards participating more fully in the Euro 2024 qualifying match against Italy on Tuesday.
Finalising Saka’s strategy will rely on how the attacker performs in Sunday’s match against Pep Guardiola’s squad.
