Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Chelsea, is willing to give Noni Madueke more time to adjust to life at Stamford Bridge, but he also wants Madueke to demonstrate greater discipline.
That’s what journalist Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport.
Although Chelsea defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup, Noni Madueke was left off the team’s roster.
The manager has spoken out about the winger’s public partying while he was sidelined.
This video, we were discussing it with him, Mauricio Pochettino was recently reported as saying by The Guardian. “It’s something we should try to steer clear of,” I said.
Pochettino, Mauricio, patient
Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January for about £30 million, appears to have the Argentine’s patience, but the 21-year-old still needs to live up to Pochettino’s expectations.
Jacobs said, “So I think that behind the scenes Pochettino wants Madueke to maybe be a little bit more disciplined both on and off the field and wants to leave a little bit more time for him to integrate himself into the squad and the culture to make sure that he’s ultimately focused on one thing, which is challenging for a place in the Chelsea starting-11.”
Noni Madueke requires more time
Despite being born in England, Madueke had never played in the Premier League until joining Chelsea at the age of 21.
This seems that Pochettino intends to give the wide man some breathing room while he adjusts to his new surroundings.
Madueke was definitely a long-term investment, but Chelsea needs players who can contribute right away.
With only one win this season, they are presently 15th in the Premier League table.
Signing so many inexperienced rookies was a mistake, but the damage has already been done. We’re crossing our fingers that Madueke can quickly make an effect and restore Chelsea to their pre-takeover state.
