BREAKING: Mauricio Pochettino talks about his future and the negotiations that Marc Cucurella had with Manchester United.

In the summer transfer window, Manchester United attempted and failed to acquire Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.

Mauricio Pochettino, head coach of Chelsea, has stated that he had no influence in the sale of Marc Cucurella to Manchester United at the close of the summer transfer window.

After Luke Shaw’s two-month absence due to a muscle ailment, United decided to add the Spaniard to their roster as a left back. They were considering loaning him out to them as a stopgap measure.

United first targeted another player, Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen, but they had to shift their emphasis to Sergio Reguilon since they needed the January loan termination clause. However, Chelsea was not keen on signing on the dotted line.

Reguilon joined United on the last day of the transfer window and has now made three appearances. However, he has been injured and has missed the team’s previous two games.

Cucurella has started only one game for Chelsea since the transfer window shut on September 1, and that was last week’s 1-0 Carabao Cup victory against Brighton. Pochettino has stated, however, that if he reaches a certain level of performance, he will be included in his plans.

Pochettino replied, “I don’t know because I wasn’t involved in this situation.” He went on to say that the “sporting director,” the player’s agent, and the club were the ones who had the most information about the matter. We were chatting in my office after the transfer deadline had passed.

We had a really honest conversation about how I view and evaluate him, and I took the time to consider his perspective. Naturally, since he moved there from Brighton, he had a tough time. It was difficult for him and a lot of other guys.

That’s why it’s so important to put our faith in him. He plays right wing for us and he impressed me against Brighton on Wednesday.

I was impressed with his efforts, and he has my full support. We count on that from our players.

It’s time to get to work, keep your eyes peeled for an opening, and put in some serious effort. It’s quite evident that he’s a part of our strategy. If he’s qualified, he’ll get playing time.
