Manchester United's loss to Galatasaray,

‘It was quite silent,’ Christian Eriksen said of the Manchester United locker room following their loss to Galatasaray.

United needed a win against Galatasaray at home after losing their first Champions League group game to Bayern Munich, and they got off to a great start by taking the lead in the match’s 17th minute.

Rasmus Hojlund scored on a header, but the visiting team quickly tied it up. Later in the second half, the youthful striker scored again, but United gave up another equalizer.

Mauro Icardi missed a penalty kick but made up for it by dinking Onana for the game-tying goal a few minutes later.

It came as little surprise to hear Eriksen disclose the mood in the locker room was bad when he spoke to TNT Sports after United had lost both of their Champions League group games and six of their 10 games overall.

This was a major letdown,” Eriksen remarked. The locker area was eerily silent. I thought we played well at times, but ultimately, when we went ahead, we surrendered soon after, and that made it very tough to come back from.

That’s something we need to alter right away. I don’t think self-assurance is the issue; rather, maintaining peak performance requires constant focus and mental acuity. We’ve thrown away leads before, so we know better after going up twice.
