Benoit Badiashile, a star for Chelsea, will not play in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The latest setback to Chelsea’s defence is the news that star central defender Benoit Badiashile will be sidelined for a month due to a groyne injury.

It was first thought that the injury, which Chelsea sustained during their 3-1 FA Cup victory over Aston Villa last Wednesday, would only be a minor issue.

Nevertheless, scans showed that the Frenchman, who has already missed 14 games in all competitions this season, will likely spend another significant amount of time on the sidelines, the Evening Standard reported.

Badiashile will miss the Blues’ match against Crystal Palace on Monday as well as, most importantly, the team’s trip to Wembley on February 25 to play Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
