After making a quick impression at Royal Antwerp, Arthur Vermeeren appears to be emerging as one of the most sought-after young midfield players in European markets.
At the young age of 18, the Belgian has already made nearly 50 appearances in competitive play for Royal Antwerp. Earlier this week, during the international break, he made his debut for the Belgian national team.
Vermeeren is getting closer to joining Arsenal in January.
However, it seems Arthur Vermeeren is getting closer to joining Arsenal during the forthcoming January transfer window, despite Barça’s interest in the midfielder.
SPORT claims that Mikel Arteta is a major admirer of the Belgian midfield player and wants him to join the team in January.
Vermeeren is apparently willing to pay Arsenal €20 million, which is a significant sum of money for an 18-year-old who has never played in one of Europe’s top five divisions.
