ARSENAL CELEBRATES ON OCTOBER 8. TOWARDS MANAGER OF THE MONTH FROM WORST ARSENAL MANAGER

Royal Arsenal defeated the Royal Engineers Training Battalion 8-0 on October 8, 1891.

On October 8, 1910, Arsenal suffered a 0-3 road loss to Bradford City, ending their seven-game winning streak and goal scoring streak in the league.

Jimmy Bloomfield’s final senior game was on October 8, 1960. He was moved to Birmingham, where he lasted four years. He played in a second Fairs Cup final, losing twice, before helping Birmingham win the league cup in 1963 by scoring in the championship game.

Jimmy Carter joined from Liverpool on October 8th for £500,000. Carter played with Arsenal for 3.5 years during which time the team won three different cups, however he only played in 25 games, scoring twice, and didn’t participate in any of the finals. In the league cup on this day, Arsenal defeated Leicester 2-0.

Wimbledon defeated Arsenal 3–1 on October 8 in the Premier League. Since the advent of international breaks, this was the final game Arsenal ever played on October 8th, at least until 2023. Wright, Smith, and Campbell scored the goals, with Wimbledon’s Vinne Jones also scoring.
