Despite limping off in the second half of Arsenal’s Champions League loss to Lens with an injury, Mikel Arteta claims Bukayo Saka is still in the running for the matchup with Manchester City on Super Sunday.
In the 34th minute of Tuesday’s Group B encounter, Saka exited the pitch while still holding his leg; Arteta later claimed that Saka had experienced a “muscular” issue and that it was a “worry”.
However, the 22-year-old was selected for Gareth Southgate’s England team on Thursday, and Arteta stated during his news conference on Friday that he is a contender to play versus City in a game that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
He said, “He’s up for it. “Let’s see how he develops between now and Sunday.
