LOCKED IN Till 2030: Philadelphia Eagles Star Jalen Hurts Signs 5-Year, $265 Million Extension with Massive Guarantee

The Philadelphia Eagles have secured the future of their franchise quarterback. Jalen Hurts, the dynamic leader under center, has officially signed a five-year, $265 million contract extension that will keep him in midnight green through the 2030 NFL season.

The deal includes a guaranteed $200 million, making it one of the most lucrative and secure contracts in NFL history. With this extension, the Eagles have cemented Hurts as their quarterback of the present and future.

Hurts’ Statement: “Philadelphia Is My Home”

Shortly after the announcement, Hurts addressed reporters with poise and pride.

“Philadelphia is my home. This city believed in me from the jump, and I’ve given everything I have — and I’m not done yet. I want to win here. I want to finish my career here. I bleed green,” Hurts said at a packed press conference at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Road to Franchise Greatness

Hurts, 26, has steadily developed into one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks since being drafted in the second round in 2020. After leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl in the 2022 season, Hurts followed up with multiple Pro Bowl selections and continued to evolve as a dual-threat weapon.

In the 2024 season, Hurts threw for 4,212 yards, 34 touchdowns, and rushed for another 11 scores — reaffirming his reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous offensive players.

General Manager Howie Roseman called the deal a “no-brainer.”

“Jalen Hurts represents everything we want in a Philadelphia Eagle — leadership, toughness, work ethic, and a relentless will to win. Locking him in long-term was always the plan.”

Contract Details

  • Length: 5 years

  • Total Value: $265 million

  • Average Annual Value: $53 million

  • Guaranteed at signing: $200 million

  • Signing Bonus: $60 million

  • Incentives: $25 million in potential playoff and MVP-related bonuses

With this extension, Hurts now joins the upper tier of NFL quarterbacks in earnings — rivaling deals held by Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert.

Locker Room Celebration

The announcement sparked joy throughout the Eagles locker room. Wide receiver A.J. Brown, Hurts’ close friend and top target, tweeted:

“My dawg LOCKED IN ‼️ Let’s go finish what we started. #FlyEaglesFly”

Veteran center Jason Kelce (who recently hinted at another comeback season) added:

“You don’t find leaders like Jalen Hurts every day. He’s earned this and more.”

Eagles’ Core Secured

The Hurts deal is part of the Eagles’ long-term vision. With Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jordan Mailata, and several key defenders all signed through at least 2026, the franchise has built a roster poised to contend for multiple championships.

Head coach Nick Sirianni emphasized continuity.

“Stability at quarterback changes everything. With Jalen locked in, we’re in a great position to keep building — and winning.”

Fan Reaction: A City Rejoices

Across Philadelphia, Eagles fans celebrated with chants of “HURTS SEASON” echoing online and in the streets. Local bars and shops even offered special “$265 Hurts Specials” in honor of the record-breaking deal.

One fan posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“We ride with 1. Jalen Hurts just became a Philly legend for life.”

Looking Ahead: Super Bowl or Bust?

With Hurts now locked in until 2030, the expectations in Philadelphia are clear: Bring home another Lombardi Trophy.

Hurts didn’t shy away from that goal.

“We’ve been close. We’ve battled. But now it’s about finishing the job. I’m more motivated than ever. Let’s go win it all.”
